The Bastion of Capo Marchiafava: suspended between sky and sea
Built in the seventeenth century, the Bastion of Capo Marchiafava represents the monumental remains of the ancient city fortification system. It is located north of Cefalù, close to the church of Itria.
Polygonal bulwark with the point towards the sea, restored in the 80s. From it you can admire a breathtaking view: the entire coast of Cefalù and its lighthouse, while during the beautiful sunny days you can also see some of the Aeolian islands.
Through a path with ladders you can also walk the cliff. The Bastione today has several rooms, on which to look out to enjoy in the meantime a beautiful sea view and the panorama of Cefalù, still preserving its ancient soul.
A peculiar place of the town, it is dedicated to contemplating the infinite beauty between sky and sea, giving a magical atmosphere.
