The enchanting beauty of the beaches of Cefalù

The beaches of Cefalù are among the most beautiful in Sicily: Cefalù is in fact one of the most sought after seaside resorts that each year attracts crowds of tourists from all over the world. Meeting point between the rocky roughness and the delicacy of the waters, the seaside village is particularly characteristic for its ancient houses overlooking the sea, in the shade of which bathers spend the endless summer days. The village consists of a series of beaches with fine sand but also jagged rocks. That of the Promenade is the urban beach of Cefalù, the one that attracts most tourists passing by. It is an expanse of golden sand that slopes towards a turquoise sea. Despite being the beach of the city the water is clear and clean. The beach is about 1.5 km long and has both free and equipped sections. A wide golden beach where the nightlife of Cefalù is unleashed at sunset. The scenery that is presented is exceptional , with a view of the Rocca, the Duomo and the old port. The seabed is very clear and progressive, therefore, it is a beach very suitable for families with children, also for the equipment and establishments available for the bathers. Then, about three kilometers from Cefalù, there is the beach of Mazzaforno: a small bay formed by both coves and beaches. The bay of Mazzaforno is surrounded by dense vegetation and is characterized by both sandy and rocky seabed. Another of the beautiful beaches of Cefalù not to be missed is Spiaggia Caldura, here the scenery is different, the beach is pebble, surrounded by rocks and caressed by clear blue waters. It’s the ideal beach for diving lovers. Another very popular beach in Cefalù is Salinelle. It is a long stretch of sand where there are both free and equipped beaches. Excellent beach for those who love windsurfing, for groups of friends and for those who want to have fun. The sea is clean but the seabed is already deep at a short distance from the shore so it is not recommended for children. A few kilometers from Salinelle, Capo Playa is also worth seeing. This coast consists of sand and pebbles; it is swept by the winds, therefore, it is ideal for lovers of surfing and sailing. The sea is very clean but the seabed is not progressive and comes down abruptly not far from the shore, so it is not a coast suitable for children. There are several equipped beaches that provide various services for those who want to enjoy the sea and sun in peace. For those who love the tranquility the beach of S.Ambrogio is recommended. It is a less known and therefore less crowded coast, the beach consists mostly of stones with stretches of sand and pebbles. The water is very clean and transparent. This coast is not equipped so it is entirely free. It is located 6 km from Cefalù towards Messina. Then there is the Pollina Beach of Cefalù, that is little targeted by tourists in the low season but in July and August is very crowded. This is the beach of those who love to have fun, especially in the evening because here parties and bonfires with lots of music are organized. In total there are eleven kilometers of coastline and it is easily accessible from the historic center. The beach of Settefrati offers an incomparable view: a bay surrounded by greenery and small jagged coves. There are numerous emerging rock formations, from the lowest to the widest that have the shape of veritable sea stacks. The sea is crystal clear and transparent, with depths rich in fish. It is, finally, the meeting between the historic center and the seashore that is born one of the most magical places of Cefalù: finally, the most magical places of Cefalù born from the meeting between the historic center and the seashore. Porta Marina (or Pescara), the only survivor of the four doors belonging to the ancient city walls. Under the arch with sea view the lovers exchange passionate kisses, turning their eyes to the enchanting embrace between the sky and the sea.
