The beach of Mazzaforno: a bay three kilometers from Cefalù
Just three kilometers from Cefalù, Mazzaforno is a seaside resort that gives its name to its small coves, to those sandy or pebble beaches and their emerald and turquoise sea.
The beach is located at the gates of the Norman town, along the state road that leads to Lascari, a short distance from the motorway junction of Cefalù. As a backdrop to the beach and the sea, a landscape that touches tips of extraordinary colors: from the bright green of the mountain to the bright colors of the stones, up to the blue stairs of the water that gradually becomes deeper and deeper.
The beautiful beach is enclosed in a bay that can be reached by a long staircase, from which you can enjoy a wide view of the bay below, near the Sporting Club Mazzaforno; on the other side, through a private road. This small bay of sand mixed with pebbles, set in a wonderful landscape, enchants and seduces bathers and tourists for its extraordinary charm.
The sea of Mazzaforno is spectacular, with the waters that go from the emerald green to the turquoise of the deepest points and that are so clear and transparent that they let glimpse the submerged rocks. The beach is partly made up of natural rocks smoothed by the sea, while the bottom is sandy and becomes deep a few meters from the shore.
The bay is closed to the east by a high promontory beyond which, there is another cove that guards a small beach with rocks and rocks particularly suggestive, difficult to access from the ground, but perfect to find tranquility. Although a bit hidden, the beach, is quite frequented and being not very big it fills easily.
It is free and partly occupied by the umbrellas and sun beds of a hotel on the coast. It is also clean and organized thanks to the presence of beaches and bars close to the beach. The stretch of coast in which it rises is also the ideal place for fans of snorkeling.
Like many Sicilian beaches where the wild mountain with its trees and its uncontaminated greenery meets the boundless expanse of sea, the beach of Mazzaforno expresses this heterogeneous presence of nature.
For this reason, in the heart of the warmer season, in July and August in particular, it welcomes tourists and visitors who recognize Sicily as a perfect destination that can satisfy opposing tastes: a dip in the sea with a look that climbs the mountain.
